Warzycha: Oughton "Probably" to Start

In the press conference after last night's match against Toronto, Columbus Crew coach Robert Warzycha said that Duncan Oughton will likely be a member of the First XI in coming games.

The Kiwi started last week against Real Salt Lake – his first league start since June, 2008 – in place of midfielder Emmanuel Ekpo, who was forced to sit the game out due to yellow card suspension.

The stability that Oughton brought to the midfield against Salt Lake did not go unnoticed. It was therefore hardly surprising to anyone except perhaps Ekpo – who appeared less than happy when coming out of the locker room before the game – that Oughton found himself in the First XI again last night.

"He really blended in after not playing for so long," Warzycha replied when asked if Oughton would return to the starting lineup next week at Colorado. "He understands the game very well. He just makes our team that much better. So yes, probably."
